letter from the editor

Hello Panthers,

The Vehicle is proud to present its annual 2025 Spring Issue! Our priority this year was to reflect the valuable diversity of our community, extending to undergraduates, graduates, alumni, professors, and School of Extended Learning students. Our team was floored by the influx of amazing submissions; we struggled to choose between all of them, yet we have weeded through to pick the top 27 pieces of literature.

First and foremost, we’d like to thank all of the writers and artists who took the time to submit their works to our magazine. Clearly, we would not be able to continue producing The Vehicle without your support!

Our team congratulates the four winners of the Winnie Davis Neeley awards. Our creative non-fiction winner was Kiersten Holland’s “Hollow Wings,” fiction winner Elijah Kubicek's “Bustletown USA,” drama winner Andrew Whalen’s “Pergal’s Heaven,” and poetry winner Wyatt Edwards’ “Roadkill.”

A huge thanks goes out to our staff and editor, they’ve worked hard every step of the way to produce an amazing magazine. A special thank you goes out to Dr. Abel, who guided us through the journey with aid of her expertise, having experience publishing literary magazine Bluestem. My final thank you is reserved for you, the reader. Thank you for taking the time to view and support our creative endeavors.
